Registration Register of debt collectors
From 1 April 2024, new legislation will apply; the Wet Kwaliteit Incassodienstverlening (Wki). Debt collection agencies must register with the government. The government will supervise the actions of debt collection agencies. The quality requirements apply to all debt collection agencies that collect payments on behalf of third parties from consumers living in the Netherlands. The legislation focuses on, among other things, quality, professional competence and transparent and solution-oriented actions.
