What does the cumulation provision entail?

From 1 October 2024, a new calculation will apply in newly transferred cases if the consumer has several outstanding accounts with the same creditor. There is a 1st and a 2nd paragraph of this article in the law. This cumulation provision limits collection costs in the event of recurring invoicing (stacking) in continuing performance agreements. Examples of continuing performance agreements are energy bills, telephone and TV and internet subscriptions, car lease, etc.  The cumulation provision only applies to instalments lower than €266.67 and not to non-instalments such as a fine or additional levy for cleaning costs, etc.
